Superdome to be ready by Sept. 1

WWL-TV reports today that the Superdome will be ready to host football by September 1. It means the Saints could play their entire schedule at home, though some nice amenities such as granite countertops in the suites won't be complete until later in the season.

More to come on this and the recent developments with Tagliabue and Benson...

(NOTE - Time is short when other commitments come up. My apologies to those of you who have kept up with the blog awaiting more frequent updates. The news has been great as of late, and I hope to have more detailed info and my opinion on it all, for whatever it's worth, very soon.)

Tags: Saints to be in N.O. beyond '06, city could get future Super Bowl

Though there have been few (read: zero) posts since the Tom Benson press conference a couple weeks back, here's some big news for Saints fans.

NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue returned to New Orleans, and announced yesterday that the Saints would remain in the Crescent City beyond 2006.

Tagliabue also stated that the Saints should be able to play their entire 2006 schedule in the Superdome, and that the NFL is looking into a possible future Super Bowl for the city.

More comments on this great news later this evening...
