Orlando Sentinel columnist: Saints shouldn't return to N.O.

Orlando Sentinel columnist Jemele Hill, in a column titled "Road Alone," asserts that the Saints should not return to New Orleans for financial reasons, and that Tom Benson should not be cast as an evil guy for wanting to move the team. It's worth a look. The link is here.

Good to know the city of Orlando is looking out for New Orleans. Thanks for having our back. May Disneyland always bring in the tourists.

She is flat out wrong. New Orleans doesn't (didn't) have the infrastructure to support the Saints, but Green Bay does? The reason the Saints were in difficulty before Katrina, and ever so much so now is because of Benson, not New Orleans. The city would have a tough time rebuilding, but the NFL should use this as an opportunity to get rid of Benson and use the Saints as the cornerstone for the rebuilding of New Orleans.

I never bought the argument that the team was in financial trouble. Sure they might have made more money with a new stadium but that doesn't mean they weren't making a profit. If Benson wants to prove that the was losing money before the storm he should open up his books

All this crap about the Saints being in financial trouble is hooey, but evidently, every 2 bit rag sportswriter has decided it is gospel.

37 straight sellouts. How is that trouble?
